Don’t worry. As you can see but these words, typed by my hands, I made it out alive. Barely.
Where have I been lately? I’ve been knee deep in crap. Not the smelly kind, the clutter kind.
I have tidied, thrown away and bagged (to re-home) so much I’m amazed I have ANY possessions left. Yet my abode still feels like it is filled to the brim (this is possibly due to the fact that all the above is still camping out in my living room because I have nowhere else to put it). Woe is me and my never ending battle.
Marie Kondo and her magnificent tome, “The Life-changing magic of Tidying”, have been solid companions through the struggle. I feel I am making some progress, however small. It feels different this time, like the state of my surroundings might actually have a chance at that minimalist lifestyle it has only dared dream about.
I’m exaggerating. It will never be like that with a toddler around, a fact I have made peace with. It will be a considerable amount more livable though.
With my new KonMari(ish) attitude I shall CONQUER THE CRAP. It shall RUE the day it ever spilled all over my potential clutter-free dwelling.
In the immortal words of The Terminator, “I’ll be back”.
